MEASURE
TIP - Check HOW you will fix your finished screen BEFORE cutting anything. Decide first if you are fixing INSIDE or OUTSIDE, within the reveal or over the top of the door space.
Measure your door opening for covering with the screen. This screen is designed for maximum 950mm Width x 2200mm Height.
If you are fitting within the reveal. The final Width is pre-determined, as is the overlap of each Panel. If you are fitting AROUND the Opening, decide how much overlap you can allow for finished screen. Final Height should be to the floor in both cases.
TIP – If reveal fixing the Headrail, remember to make a small allowance for the thickness of the end caps.
Step 1. Fix the Bottom Weights to one edge of each Mesh Panel. TIP – If possible hang them somewhere to start the process of removing the curl from rolling-up.
Step 2. Decide if you are using the Bracket/end caps and separate the pieces accordingly to ensure equal suspension across the Headrail and at each end.
Step 3. Measure and mark the two pieces of the Aluminium Headrail set.
TIP - Cut ONLY when you are sure you have correctly measured.
Step 4. Cut both pieces of the Headrail set. TIP – Use a file to take off any rough burrs after cutting.
Step 5. Fix the Bracket/end caps and central Brackets to the wall surface.
TIP – Ensure they are at the same height. Try latching the Headrail back piece over the Brackets to ensure correctly positioned, square and horizontal.
Remove the cover strip from the adhesive tape on the Headrail.
Step 6. Now offer up each Mesh Panel to stick to the tape with the Weight at the correct position at floor level.
TIP- Fit the middle Panel first, then adjust the hanging of each side Panel for correct overlap and complete coverage of the opening.
Step 7. Using your thumb and/or the Toll provided, press the Rubber Cord into the retaining groove from one end of the Headrail, trapping the Mesh Panel into the groove to retain it.
TIP- It does not matter if there is a small overlap of cord either end. This can later be trimmed off.
Using a sharp craft knife or scissors if preferred, cut off the excess from the top of each Mesh Panel making sure the Panel is firmly retained.
Step 8. Slot the top edge of the Cover Profile into the groove on top of the Back Profile and carefully hinge it down over the Mesh Panels, further trapping and concealing the tops of them.
Fold the Headrail Bracket/end caps around to neatly finish off the ends of the Headrail.
TIP – When showing others how to use the Mesh Panel Door Screen, divide the Panels with one hand and separate them with light pressure only to ensure the integrity and long-life of the screen.
TIP – Remove the Screen when the season of need is over, and store it carefully, taking extra care not to fold or crease the Panels.
The Brackets can be left in position or removed and stored. Please note, the Brackets are not available as spares items.
SAFETY NOTE:
The screen is to keep out insects. It is NOT designed to prevent animals or children from passing and should never be considered safe for this purpose in windows or doors.
