Window Blinds and Part L of the Building Regulations
27/11/2010
In October 2010, a new revision of Document L of the Building Regulations came into effect. This document sets targets for CO2 emission rates that new and refurbished buildings must not exceed.
This article "Going Green: Building Regulations and the 2010 Revision of Document L - A Holistic Approach to Automating Solar Shading, HVAC and Lighting" was written by Director of the Better Blind Company, Tim Pendleton, for HiddenWires Magazine.
It explains how HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), Light and Solar Shading Specialists must work together so that buildings meet these carbon emissions targets, by limiting solar gain and heat loss through windows.
