Energy Saving Blinds Information
21/01/2009
As you can see from the picture below, windows are a substantial point of heatloss within your home. Continue reading to find out how our energy saving blind fabrics can minimise this loss and save you up to £113 per year on your energy bills.

How the Energy Saving Blinds Work... The average house hold spends over £750 per year on electricity and gas for heating. Some households spend additional amounts on cooling during hot summer months. Up to 25% of heating and cooling costs are wasted through the windows of residential properties. It is already known that all window blind fabrics create a form of insulation at the window. However, until now the effect of this insulation has not been quantified. Louvolite's fabrics have all been subjected to a combination of tests, by the National Physical Laboratory and other external agencies. The resulting data has enabled Louvolite to quantify the potential annual energy and cash saving for an average household, from each fabric in their collection! They have categorised their fabrics into 3 "energy rating" bands. ER1 fabrics are the most energy efficient. When used in conjunction with Louvolite's Perfect Fit Blind system, ER1 rated fabrics offer a potentially massive saving of 15% or £113 each year, on the average household heating bill!
