Sprucing up your Roller Blinds
23/10/2008
Often, when we are scouring the web engaging in activities such as price checking, we come across some truly innovate stuff, an example of this was when we came across better view blinds.
Another great find is Curbly’s article on taking an old roller blind and sprucing it up with materials such as paint, wallpaper and fabric.
When we find interesting articles like this we feel we are at duty to inform our readers who might want to transform their old, but still functional, blind into a unique creative product, at a very small cost.
Obviously, this is a very DIY orientated approach, which can be quite time consuming for someone who isn’t very artistic or hands on. Here are the pro’s and con’s laid out nicely.
Pros
Cost effective – Compared to buying an entirely new blind, altering your existing one can be very cost effective. After all, it would seem a waste to discard a fully functioning blind.
Fun – A lot of the examples of creative blinds we have seen are by people who create artwork as a hobby.
Cons
Need materials – Unless you have rolls of fabric or tins of paint lying around the house you are going to need to go out and purchase all the materials.
Time consuming – Creating artwork from a blind is not a 5 minute job, some of the examples we show can take hours.
Could go wrong – After shopping for the materials and spending time preparing your blind there is still a chance it could all go wrong.
Luckily, there is an alternative that we can offer.
No, we won’t paint your blinds for you! What we can do though is print an image of your choice onto a roller blind. This not only creates a unique effect, but it also takes all the work off you, the hardest part is picking your favourite photo!
Pros
Save Time – Instead of spending time out of your busy day to create a unique blind, why not leave it to us? That’s what we’re here for.
Expertise – We have been manufacturing blinds for nearly 20 years, so we have mastered the art.
Cons
More Expensive – The only disadvantage of us creating your blind for you is that it is a slightly more expensive option.
Hopefully, all the pros and cons have been portrayed clearly in this article, if you have any questions feel free to ring us on 0161 367 9013, alternatively visit our picture blinds section to begin the purchase process.
