Fly Screen "Hook Tape" Instructions

22/12/2008

ADHESIVE HOOK TAPE  code 03401
Contains 1 x 5m length of self-adhesive Hook Tape used for retaining a sheet of Insect Mesh onto a frame.

To prepare and assemble a Screen using Mesh applied to the Hook Tape, the familiar DIY tools you will need are :-

• Craft Knife with sharp blade ( if snap-off, use a fresh one ) or scissors.
• Measuring tape or steel rule

Step 1.
CLEAN
Ensure you thoroughly clean the frame where you will stick the adhesive Hook Tape.

TIP- Cut the mesh over-size for the opening, OR, you may prefer to cut the mesh almost to exact size at the start to avoid trimming in situ afterwards.

Step 2.
Measure and cut the adhesive Hook Tape to fit all 4 sides.
Butt joint the pieces of Tape at the corners to ensure good contact.

Step 3.
Apply the cut sheet of mesh to the Hook Tape and press on with finger pressure.

TIP- Start at one corner at the Top and first check the Mesh covers the entire opening still.

Step 4.
Press the Mesh firmly onto the Hook Tape to secure it well on all sides.

TIP- Use a small nail brush or similar and use a dabbing motion.

Step 5.
Trim the overlapping Mesh to make a neat finish ( if you cut it over-size to begin with )

TIP – You may prefer to cut the mesh almost to exact size at the start to avoid trimming in situ afterwards.

NOTE:
Other Fixed Frame Kits and Retractable Insect Screens will provide a more permanent long-lasting solution.
