Fly Stop Window Mesh Instructions

08/12/2008

Fly Stop Mesh Window Flyscreens for sizes 100x130cm and 150x180cm.

The Insect Mesh is made from washable Polyester fabric. Anthracite in colour.

To prepare and assemble the Fly Stop Mesh Window Screen from the components supplied, the familiar DIY tools you will need are :-

• Craft Knife with sharp blade ( if snap-off, use a fresh one ) or scissors.
• Measuring tape or steel rule

COMPONENTS SUPPLIED

In the pack you will find :-
1 x sheet of Mesh at size shown on the pack
1 x roll of adhesive Hook Tape (size to suit Mesh perimeter )

Step 1.
CLEAN
Ensure you thoroughly clean the frame where you will stick the adhesive Hook Tape.

Step 2.
MEASURE
To select which size of Fly Stop you require, first measure the Width x Height of your window opening, where you plan to fit the Mesh. TIP- Cut the mesh over-size for the opening, OR, you may prefer to cut the mesh almost to exact size at the start to avoid trimming in situ afterwards.

Measure and cut the adhesive Hook Tape to fit all 4 sides.
Butt joint the pieces of Tape at the corners to ensure good contact.

Step 3.
Apply the cut sheet of mesh to the Hook Tape and press on with finger pressure.
TIP- Start at one corner at the Top and first check the Mesh covers the entire opening still.

Step 4.
Press the Mesh firmly onto the Hook Tape to secure it well on all sides.
TIP- Use a small nail brush or similar and use a dabbing motion.

Step 5.
Trim the overlapping Mesh to make a neat finish ( if you cut it over-size to begin with )
TIP – You may prefer to cut the mesh almost to exact size at the start to avoid trimming in situ afterwards.

NOTE:

Other Fixed Frame Kits and Retractable Insect Screens will provide a more permanent long-lasting solution.

A smaller mesh size ( 20x20 ) is available for Retractable Insect Screens  ( see. Roller Insect Screens for Windows )

The Mesh can be easily cut with a sharp Craft Knife or Scissors, but as it is glass, it is damaged by folding, creasing, animal claws or sharp implements.

SAFETY NOTE:

The screen is to keep out insects. It is NOT designed to prevent animals or children from passing and should never be considered safe for this purpose in windows or doors.
