For a window with a view - Better View Blinds!

At NewBlinds.co.uk, we’re always looking out for creative and innovative blinds and interior design. Today, we’d like to share with you the work of designer Elina Aalto – Better View Blinds.
We first noticed Better View Blinds on the blog of an interior designer, Ken Hoyt.
Better View  Blinds are a series of creative designs for roller blackout blinds, based on contrasting cityscapes from around the world. For example, her designs include cityscapes based on Sky scrapers in Tokyo, 60s architecture in Helsinki, and 19th Century Architecture in Paris.
NewBlinds.co.uk spoke to Elina directly, and she told us that the blinds themselves are created by taking a blackout roller blind, and hand cutting holes, to create the image of a city at night. The daylight which comes through the holes simulates the lights in the windows of the buildings throughout the city.
Although the blinds, which are on display at the touring Sauma Design Exhibition, are currently only a prototype, Elina says she has had success in selling items from this prototype collection for between 400 and 600 Euro, depending on the size. Elina has plans build on this success by manufacturing the blinds on a larger scale.
