Is There Such Thing as Cordless Pleated Blinds?

We often receive a lot of enquiries as to whether we sell cordless pleated blinds. Cordless pleated blinds can mean two different things depending on who you ask, so in this article I’m going to detail the two different meanings.

What does cordless mean?

One meaning of cordless is that there are no visible cords running through the blinds. Here are some images to illustrate what I mean.

Here we have standard “zig zag” pleated blinds, with the cord running through it.

Here we have honeycomb blinds where the cord runs through the centre of the honeycomb

The cords on standard pleated blinds are transparent, but many people still prefer honeycomb blinds as the cord runs through the centre and is not visible at all.

Another Meaning for Cordless Blinds?

If you do choose free hanging blinds, whether it be honeycomb or standard pleated blinds, they are both operated with a cord and cleat system – which can be positioned to the left or the right of the blind.

If what you want is pleated blinds with cordless operation, then what you need is Perfect Fit Pleated blinds. These are a "no-drill" system. They are simply mounted onto brackets that clip into your window frame. These blinds are only available for UPVC windows and doors.

Perfect Fit Pleated Blinds are hung in a frame which can be colour coded with the window frame colour. The frame has wires concealed within it, which allow the blind to be positioned at any point in the window. The blind can be raised and lowered using a handle using a handle on the discrete bottom bar of the pleated blind. This eliminates the need for the cord and cleat system.
