Remote Control Blinds: FAQ - Can I use by Somfy remote handset to control other products?

One of the latest additions to the NewBlinds.co.uk website are Somfy remote controls for controlling remote control blinds. If you have other Somfy automated products in your home, you may be wondering if you can use the remote to control them.

The short answer is yes, although there are some things you must consider. somfy remote control

Is it a Single or Multi Channel Remote?

If you have a single channel remote such as the Telis 1 RTS then you will know that you can control only one product, or one group of products.

If you have a multi-channel remote such as the Telis 4 RTS then you have four channels. So you could control individual products or groups of products independently. So, for example, you could have your blinds on one channel and your projector screen on another and so on.

Which other products can you use?

Although, at NewBlinds.co.uk, we only currently supply Somfy automated blinds, there are others available. These include curtains, screens, and lighting products.

There are also RTS enabled awnings, gates and garage doors. We recommend a special waterproof remote for these, for more information ring us on 0161 367 9013.

Is the product RTS enabled?

RTS is an abbreviation for Remote Technology Somfy which means home automation by using radio waves. If the product is not RTS enabled then it will not work in conjunction with your RTS remote.
