You can buy Perfect Fit Shutters for windows up to 2250mm wide. However, the maximum width of a single panel is 750mm. Windows above 750mm wide, will be split into multiple equal sized panels, as explained below.
- Up to 750mm wide - 1 shutter panel
- Up to 1500mm wide - 2 equally sized shutter panels.
- Up to 2250mm wide - 3 equally sized shutter panels.
For example for a glass width of 1800mm, you will receive 3 shutter panels, each at 600mm wide. These will be installed side-by-side.

Measuring for Perfect Fit Shutters is straightforward. You will need to measure the visible glass size of each window pane where you plan to install the shutters. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions in our video below and read the important notes:

- If your window or door has multiple panes of glass, measure the visible glass size of each pane individually.
- Each shutter overlaps the visible glass by 23mm on all sides (top, bottom, left, and right). Ensure that no window or door components (such as vents, opening bars, or handles) are within 23mm of the glass edges, as these may obstruct the shutter frame.
- Not suitable for sliding doors or windows due to the 30mm projection from the window or door frame.
- If installing on folding and stacking doors, consider the 30mm projection, as this may prevent the door/window from stacking fully.

Perfect Fit Shutters overlap the visible glass of the window by 23mm each side and top and bottom. Trickle vents are usually positioned at the top of the window frame. If the trickle vent or any level used to operate the vent is within 23mm of the visible glass, then Perfect Fit Shutters will not work with your window. Yes, you can still have Perfect Fit Shutters if your window is an opening pane and has a handle, as long as the base plate of the handle is more than 23mm away from the edge of the visible glass.

When ordering your shutters, you will be asked for the position of your handle – left-hand, right-hand, or bottom.

You also need to provide the measurement of your handle. Follow these steps:

1. Open the handle to expose the window handle base plate.
2. Along the side of the glass where the handle is positioned, measure from the edge of the visible glass to the centre of the base plate of the handle.

For different handle positions:

• If the handle is located at the bottom of the window, measure from the left-hand edge of the glass to the middle of the handle base plate.
• If the handle is on the right or left-hand side, measure from the bottom edge of the glass to the middle of the base plate of the handle.

In most cases, we will supply your shutters with a rebate (cut-out) at the position of the handle to allow it to turn.

Exceptions:

• If the handle is at the bottom of the window pane and your window requires two shutter panels, we will provide a window handle packer to be inserted under the handle base so that it clears the shutter.

Where a rebate is provided, the vast majority of window handles will turn without catching the rebate. However, if your handle catches, please contact [email protected], and we will provide you with a slim (2mm or 6mm) window handle packer for extra clearance.

Perfect Fit Shutters project outwards from the window frame by 30mm (3cm) and they overlap past the edge of the visible glass by 23mm each side, at the top and at the bottom.

Yes, one of the benefits of Perfect Fit Shutters is that they can be easily removed from your window or door. You may wish to remove them so that you can clean behind them once in a while. You can watch the video below to find out just how easy it is to remove them.

The slats on Perfect Fit Shutters can be tilted open and closed using a tilt rod which can be positioned on the left or right hand of the shutter panel. 

However, the shutter panel is fixed directly to the window beading andthis means that the panel is not hinged and cannot swing open and closed like traditional shutters.
